Dance Classes

At LCDA we offer classes in Classical Ballet, Jazz and Contemporary

Ballet

The Lane Cove Dance Academy has, since its inception, been dedicated to the highest standards of dance instruction in a relaxed and fun atmosphere.  We offer graded classes with individual attention in a positive and encouraging atmosphere. The school provides an enriching learning experience for the student who dances once or twice a week for the simple pleasure of it, as well as the pre-professional student aspiring to a career in dance.

With the exception of our Tiny Tots and Pre-Ballet classes, all ballet classes are based on the syllabi of the Royal Academy of Dancing and the Cecchetti Method.   Both are recognised international organizations, and are dedicated to promoting excellence in ballet training through teacher training and examinations.

Tiny Tots & Pre-Ballet

The Lane Cove Dance Academy holds several Tiny Tots and Pre-Ballet classes per week, please see the timetable for details. These classes whilst classically based are not really classical ballet – more an ‘introduction to dance’ type of class. The emphasis is on fun!!

Students learn rhythm, hand eye co-ordination and spacial awareness through specially prepared classes. Props are used to stimulate imagination. Students in Tiny Tots classes are 3 years old & students in Pre-Ballet classes are 4 years old.

All students in Tiny Tots perform (if they wish – most do) in our end of year Concerts.

Please call/email if you would like your child to try one of these classes.
