LCDA prepares eligible students for the Royal Academy of Dancing (RAD). Cecchetti ballet exams are offered at pre-primary, primary, grade 1 – grade 6 & Intermediate levels in 2012. Exams are optional and are held annually in classical ballet. Students must attend 2 lessons per week from Grade 1 onwards and 3 lessons per week at major levels to be eligible. Students will be selected at the discretion of the principals to undertake these examinations.
Private lessons are encouraged prior to examinations and extra lessons may be scheduled.
Exams are normally in August. A pianist rehearsal is normally held close to the official exam date . In the April school holidays there are normally daily exam lessons for at least one week of the holidays for senior students wishing to undertake Intermediate Foundation, Intermediate and Advanced 1 & 2.
