Theatre Information for students in Kindergarten & older
DROP OFF & SUPERVISION PROCEDURE AT GLEN STREET THEATRE

Once again, we are very pleased to announce that we have enlisted parents & previous students from our dance schools to help with supervision and looking after all students during the rehearsal and performances at Glen Street Theatre. This will allow all parents and caregivers the freedom to watch the whole of the concert guilt free!
There will be a strictly NO PARENTS backstage and in the dressing room area at any time. No parents are permitted to watch the rehearsal. Please don’t be offended if you are asked to leave the area.
DROP OFF
Drop off for all students for the rehearsal and performances will be via the bottom carpark on Glen St (this is on the opposite side of the building to the foyer) and up the stairs. Here you will sign your child in. From here your child will be taken to their dressing room and their teacher. Please make sure your child is ready, dressed in costume with hair and make-up done (no make-up needed for rehearsal day).
DRESS REHEARSAL – Tuesday 9th December
The time listed on the rehearsal schedule is the time students are required onstage. Please drop off 15mins before your child’s rehearsal time to allow them time to collect their appropriate accessories and make their way to the stage.

Why are concert rehearsals so important?
PERFORMANCE DAYS
ACT 1 Dances – If your child is in the 1st Act, drop off will be at least 30 minutes prior to the beginning of the show;
- Arrive before 6pm for the 6:30pm Show
- Arrive before 12:00pm for the 12:30pm Show
- Arrive before 5:00pm for the 5:30pm Show.
ACT 2 Dances – if your child is only in the 2nd Act, you can drop them off at interval or any time before. Interval will be approximately 1 hour after the start of the performance.
- 7:30pm for the 6:30pm Show
- 1:30pm for the 12:30pm Show
- 6:30pm for the 5:30pm Show
Of course, if you are watching the show, you will drop them off at the start so you can watch the performance in full.
PICK UP
DRESS REHEARSAL
Please allow time afterward the scheduled rehearsal time for students to make their way back to the dressing room and collect their belongings before leaving.
Please listen to the volunteers as they call out each class ready for collection.
PERFORMANCE DAYS
WILL BE AT INTERVAL OR AT THE CONCLUSION OF THE SHOW ONLY
ACT 1 Dances – If your child is only performing in the 1st Act, you are welcome to pick them up at interval, approx. 1 hour after the start of the show. Or at the end of the show, approx. 2.5 hours after the start of the show. Of course, if you are watching the show, your child will stay until the end so you can enjoy the performance in full.
ACT 2 Dances – If your child is performing in the 2nd Act, pick up will be at the end of the show, approx. 2.5 hours after the start of the show.
The show will run for approx 2 hours with a 30minute interval. There will be no access to the backstage areas to collect students while the show is in progress. Please stay and enjoy the show knowing that your children will be supervised at all times during the time they are with us.
We will also be able to contact you in the audience if there are any issues or your child is distressed. Please make sure we have updated details if appropriate and that you have your mobile phone at hand on silent/vibrate in the theatre.
What Act is my child performing in?
NO COSTUMES TO BE WORN IN THE AUDITORIUM
Please note that no students big or small, are allowed in the theatre or foyer area in his or her costume before or during the performance. If you are taking your children to watch the show before or after they have performed, you must bring them some other clothes to wear. Please note that students will need their own ticket if they wish to watch the show from the audience.
Please limit the amount of eating and drinking in costume. Water is fine.
