But first, Term 2 was full of events and we’d just like to mention some exciting things that happened during the second term & the holidays.
LUCIE SARONOVA MEMORIAL AWARDS
Adabelle L & Emily T were selected to represent NSW at Cecchetti Ballet Australia’s National Competition, the Lucie Saranova Memorial Award.
Four students from each state, two juniors & two seniors, were selected to compete in the finals, this year in Sydney at Bangarra Dance Theatre. Finalists participated in an adjudicated class and performed two solos.
A special mention to Claudia W who was selected as the reserve dancer for NSW.
We’re delighted to share with you that Adabelle received an Honourable Mention in the Junior section & Emily was named as the Winner in the Senior section.
We are so proud of Ady & Emily, such an incredible achievement for these young dancers. So much time, hard work & dedication has been put into preparing for this competition and over many years of training. Both dancers shone with their technical brilliance & beautiful artistic performances. Congratulations!
Our 2025 Junior Contemporary Performance Group were invited as guest performers for the evening. We were so proud to have them represent LCDA and so thankful for the time they put into revising their piece.

CONTEMPORARY DANCE OPEN
We are so proud of our dancers who competed in the Contemporary Dance Open; Amelia G, Ada W, Scarlett vB, Kiara M, Lulu M & Charlotte G.
Over two days of competition, dancers had the opportunity to learn from industry professionals, to push themselves out of their comfort zone and grow as dancers.
A special mention to Charlotte & Lulu who were selected as Junior Finalists and to Lulu who was awarded Runner Up!
Congratulations to you all!

CECCHETTI MEDAL AWARDS
We are incredibly proud of each of our students who competed in the NSW Cecchetti Ballet Medal Awards at the start of Term 2. They demonstrated their beautiful artistry, pure technique & joy of dance in both their class work and solos.
- We had 8 students represent LCDA in the Pre-Junior section; Imelda M, Juliette G, Harriet T, Tabatha R, Emily W, Elspeth A, Georgia M & Mia T. Congratulations to Georgia who received an Honourable Mention in a very tough section of 22 dancers.
- 3 students represented LCDA in Intermediate section; Charlotte G, Ada W & Ruth F. As well as an open class, they performed two set classical solos for esteemed adjudicators; Chelsea Andrejic & Fabio Lo Giudice.
- Adabelle L, Claudia W & Emily T competed in the Senior section. After their open class, they performed one classical and one contemporary variation. We are so proud of the time, care and dedication they put into their performances. A huge congratulations to Emily who was announced as the Winner and Adabelle who received an Honourable Mention in a very strong section.
Congratulations to all of our dancers, we are so proud to have had them represent LCDA.

CECCHETTI NATIONAL CONFERENCE
With the help of other Cecchetti Ballet NSW teachers, Mrs Moran, Mrs Pokorny & Miss Emma hosted & presented at this year’s Cecchetti Ballet Australia National Conference.
Mrs Moran presented ‘Ballet from the Beginning’, sharing her expertise on teaching pre-schoolers with Cecchetti Ballet teachers from across Australia & NZ. She had help from some of our beautiful Pre-Ballet students; Charley H, Johanna H, Mariana S, Eloise M, Clarabelle Z, Olivia C, Róisín K, Eleanor DR & Audrey R.
Mrs Pokorny shared her ideas on Improvisation for Grade 2 students, exploring creativity with the help of the wonderful pianist, Miss Helen. Chloe H, Dana L, Theia W, Clementine S, Summer Q & Tahlia H-B helped their ideas come to life.
Miss Emma coached her Lucie Saronova Memorial Award contemporary solo to help teachers & dancers understand the concept behind the solo. Thank you to Amelia G, Claudia W & Emily T for their beautiful demonstration of the solo.
LCDA students also help to demonstrate the Dance Spectrum 1 syllabus and Set Cecchetti Work.
Dance Spectrum – Emily T, Claudia W, Amelia G & Elizabeth F
Set Cecchetti – Ada W, Ruth F, Sybella L, Georgia M, Charlotte G, Lucy M, Sophia H & Olivia Q
On top of all of this our 2025 Intermediate Ballet, 2026 Intermediate Ballet and 2026 Senior Contemporary Performance Groups were invited to perform at the conference.
Our most heartfelt thanks to all of these dancers & parents for giving their time for all of the extra rehearsals and the performances during the holidays.

If you need, our company code is; YMEYUYAH
If you have any problems regarding your fees, please contact the office by email lanecovedanceacademy@gmail.com so that we can make appropriate adjustment as required.
To avoid a Late Fee please pay by the due date.
COSTUME DEPOSIT INVOICE
Please note that all invoices for costume deposits are now due. If you haven’t done so already, we would appreciate prompt payment of these invoices as we have already begun to purchase costumes for your children.
MAKE UP LESSONS
As we begin our concert preparations, make up lessons may not be available in Terms 3 & 4. Each class begins working on their specific dance and so attending a class which is not their own is impractical and disruptive to the class.
We strongly encourage students to keep up their attendance so their class can work together as a team and students do not fall behind in learning choreography.
