We have such a busy term ahead but first we would like to reflect on some of our achievements in Term 3!

CECCHETTI BALLET EXAMINATIONS

Congratulations to the 60 students from Pre-Primary to Dance Spectrum who sat their Cecchetti Ballet Examinations. We are so proud of each and every student who worked hard to achieve their best result.
You can view your child’s results via your Cecchetti Ballet Australia portal, please check your emails for instructions.

RAMBERT GRADES EXAMINATIONS

Congratulations to our contemporary students who sat their Rambert Grades exam during Term 3. This is our third year of contemporary exams, with 32 students from Grades 1 to 5.
We are so impressed with each student’s creativity, artistry & technique.
We look forward to receiving your results and feedback from Rambert Examiners. These will be forwarded to you once we receive them.

Our Performance Groups finished up their competition season with a couple of very busy but successful weekends.

The Ultimate Dance Challenge
Our Senior Contemporary & Intermediate Hip Hop Groups were invited to perform at TUDC’s Finals! Groups were selected from across two events during the year to compete for special awards, including best costume, most entertaining etc.
Congratulations to our Senior Contemporary for being awarded ‘Most Innovative Concept’. Well done to Miss Emma for her inspired choreography & to our amazing dancers who bring it to life.
We’re incredibly thankful to TUDC for hosting such a fun, professional & friendly event.

PERFORMANCE GROUP SHOWCASE

Our Performance Groups ended their season with a showcase on The Canopy stage. It was a great opportunity to share our competition dances with our LCDA community.

LULU at YAGP
A huge congratulations to Lulu who recently competed at the Youth American Grand Prix in Sydney.
Lulu placed in the Top 12 for Junior Women’s Contemporary, competing against 100s of dancers from across Australia, New Zealand & Asia. An amazing achievement!

FAREWELL EMILY
We farewelled one of our beautiful students as she continues her dance journey at The English National Ballet School. Wishing Emily, the best of luck. We are so proud of the dancer — and the young woman — she has become, and we can’t wait to watch her flourish in this exciting new environment.

CONCERT TICKETS

Concert tickets will go on sale on Thursday 12th November at 10am.
Additional booking information will be posted on our website soon. Please make sure you subscribe to the website to receive updates.

PARENT VOLUNTEERS

We are seeking parents who wish to be involved in volunteering during the upcoming LCDA concert season. Kids get a huge kick out of seeing their parents get involved.
We require interested parents for all of the above dates.
Duties involve signing children in and out, ensure children are safely supervised, and ready to take the stage.

TERM 4 INVOICES & COSTUME BALANCE
Term 4 invoices will be raised soon. You will receive an email once they are ready to be viewed & paid via your family portal.
Costume balances will be added to your Term 4 invoice. Your child will have a different costume for every class they are enrolled in.
If you did not advise the Academy that your child was not participating in the concert, before 1st June 2026, a costume was ordered and the full cost is now payable through your family portal. This cost must still be paid even if your child no longer attends the Academy. You will be notified once your costume is ready to be picked up.

Students with unpaid invoices will not be given their end of year concert costume, will not be able to purchase concert tickets or enrol in classes for 2027.

TERM 4 DATES
Term 4 will start on Monday 12th October and finish on Saturday 12th December.
However, our last day of classes at the studio will be Monday 7th December.

2027 SUMMER SCHOOL

SAVE THE DATE
Our 2027 Summer School will be held Monday 18th to Thursday 21st January.
Please make sure you subscribe to the website to receive Summer School booking information.

2027 UNIFORM

We will be making some changes to our uniform for 2027!
We brought in the current uniform during COVID, when we used the new uniform for our end of year concert. Each year group had a different colour which helped to add colour to our, fully videoed, performance. Now we feel that a new colour for every year group is not cost-effective for parents and also doesn’t align with our Cecchetti Ballet Examination uniform requirements.
Most of the uniform will stay the same; all shoe requirements, ballet tights or socks, black shorts or leggings.
Female ballet students in French Rose & Lilac will require a skirt for ballet.
What will change is a few of the coloured leotards, please see below;

GENERAL REMINDERS

DROP OFF & PICK UP at LCDA

Please be reminded that students must be supervised by a parent or guardian before their lesson at LCDA.
Recently, students have been arriving early and entering the building unsupervised. Unfortunately, this has resulted in damage to our property. As all teachers are in the studios teaching classes, there is no supervision available before classes commence.
To ensure the safety of all students and to comply with our Child Safe Policy, we ask that you please bring your child at their designated class time only. A teacher will meet students at the bottom of the stairs in Birdwood Lane and escort them into the studio. At the conclusion of class, students will be returned to you at the same collection point.
We kindly ask for your support in ensuring that children do not enter the building before they are collected by a teacher. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in helping us provide a safe and well-supervised environment for all of our students.

ENROLMENT TERMS & CONDITIONS

Here is a reminder of a couple of our Terms & Conditions;

Enrolment at LCDA is for the whole year, 4 Terms. If you wish the discontinue your child’s enrolment you must email us at LaneCoveDanceAcademy@gmail.com The cancellation will take effect on the last day of the term you are currently enrolled in.
The Academy does not provide refunds or discounts for classes missed. Where the student is unable to attend a lesson the Academy will provide an equivalent make-up class, if one is available. Once classes have begun concert work, this option may not be available.

MAKE-UP LESSONS & ATTENDANCE

Make-Up lesson become more difficult in Term 4 as each class are working on their individual concert dance. Please email the office to see if there is a suitable make-up lesson available for your child. However, we encourage all students to keep up attendance in their regular class/es this term so as not to fall behind in learning choreography and picking up changes to their concert dance.
At this time of year, dance at LCDA is a team sport. We hope that everyone can commit to their class mates and Lane Cove Dance Academy, to bring you an amazing end of year show.
