2026 Performance Groups

Registration closes on Monday 8th December.

 

Lane Cove Dance Academy Performance Groups are a great opportunity that encourages students to further their dance technique and learn important stage performance skills and teamwork as well as to make new friends.

 

2026 Commitment

The Performance Group is a representation of the high standard of dancers within Lane Cove Dance Academy so if selected, we expect continuous commitment to your group.

Attendance at ALL classes and ALL performances is compulsory.

 

Students must be committed to attend:

Weekly Performance Group class at LCDA

Weekly classes at LCDA;

  • Ballet Performance Group students must attend 2 Ballet classes in addition to their Performance Group class.
  • Jazz Performance Group students must attend 1 Jazz & 1 Ballet class in addition to their Performance Group class.
  • Contemporary Performance Group students must attend 1 Contemporary & 1 Ballet class in addition to their Performance Group class.
  • Hip Hop Performance Group students must attend 1 Hip Hop class in addition to their Performance Group class.

April school holiday rehearsals, 13th – 17th April

5 to 6 competitions during weekends in Terms 2 & 3. Students should be available for all weekends from 2nd May to 27th September (we will not enter competitions on the weekends of 11th/12th & 18th/19th July, NSW Public school holidays). Scheduled Dates for 2026;

  • 30th & 31st May (TUDC)
  • 13th & 14th June (Extreme Dance Competition)
  • 25th & 26th July (TUDC)
  • Other possible dates include;
  • IRBD – usually middle weekends of May
  • Expression Dance Competition – usually end of June
  • The Hills Dance Spectacular – usually last 2 weekends in Aug
  • Ryde Eisteddfod – Aug TBC
  • Carnival Dance Challenge – late Aug or early Sept
  • Please note that we may choose to enter additional competitions or not enter some of the above competitions.

If you cannot commit to all of the above, being a part of one our Performance Groups in 2026 may not be for you.

 

Students must be attending classes at LCDA in 2025 in a particular style if they wish to be considered for a group in that style in 2026. E.g., you must have been attending contemporary classes at LCDA this year in order to be considered for a Contemporary Performance Group in 2026.

Lane Cove Dance Academy teachers will select students to be part of the 2026 Groups based on past commitment to a group and/or classroom etiquette, technique & end of year performances. Registering your interest or previous selection in a Performance Group does not guarantee selection in one of our 2026 Performance Groups.

Please note this is an ‘Expression of Interest’ form. Filling out this form does not guarantee students a place in one of our 2026 Performance Groups. Please also note that groups in a particular age group or style may not be formed if we do not receive enough interest.
